John Crosby Freeman was a 1964 graduate of the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture. He has held several positions, including director of the Yorker Yankee Village Museum, instructor at the University of Victoria,and editor of the magazine Victorian Homes, for which he also wrote a column called "The Color Doctor," in which he gave advice about appropriate paint colors for older homes.
